Theodore D. Fay III is a senior attorney at the firm of Yee & Associates, P.C. located in Dallas, Texas.  Mr. Fay graduated from the University of California San Diego with a bachelor’s degree in physics in 1992.  He earned his law degree from the University of Denver in 1997.  Mr. Fay began his legal attorney practice as vice president and general counsel of PHI Applied Physical Sciences, a closely held optoelectronic company working in the fields of chemical and bacteriological weapons detection and scintillator material science.  In 2001, Mr. Fay became licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and joined the firm of Crockett & Crockett in Laguna Hills, California.  In 2004, Mr. Fay joined the firm of Yee & Associates P.C.

Mr. Fay’s experience includes extensive patent prosecution in the areas of medical devices, medical methods, semiconductor manufacturing devices, and semiconductor manufacturing methods.  In the areas of medical devices and methods, he has prepared and prosecuted patents involving chest compression devices, catheters, forceps, laparoscopic instruments, stents, medical power supplies, electro acupuncture devices, ECG signal processing methods, surgical methods, and cardiac therapies.  In the areas of semiconductor manufacturing devices and processes, he has prepared and prosecuted patents involving wafer carriers, backgrinding machines, wafer etching processes, and endpoint detection of polishing processes.  Mr. Fay also has experience with patenting spectrometers and a variety of other mechanical devices.  At Yee & Associates P.C. Mr. Fay prepares and prosecutes patents in the areas of computers, computer software, and electrical circuits.  Mr. Fay also counsels clients in various intellectual property matters, including infringement opinions and confidentiality agreements.  He also works with clients in developing and refining intellectual property strategies to meet the client’s needs.

Mr. Fay is a member of the American Bar Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.  He is a registered patent attorney and is licensed to practice law in the State of California.  He also is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Southern District of California.
